Jr Penguins Rebrand

The Jr Penguins will be RE-BRANDING their Jr A Hockey Team that competes in the NA3HL for the upcoming 2012-13 Season.  Working in cooperation with the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins, the Jr Pens have agreed to vacate their logo and Jr Penguin brand going forward.  “With the NHL Penguins wanting to create their own Youth Hockey Association, it was obvious that they should be the area club to sport the skating penguin logo and Penguin name” said owner Kevin Morrison.

He went on to say that “we worked together to do what we thought was in everybody’s best interest.”  Although the details are yet to be announced, the NHL penguins plan to ice Tier I teams that will compete in USAH.  To make way for those teams and to eliminate any confusion between area hockey programs the former Jr Penguins will morph from the flightless marine bird to become the Three Rivers Vengeance.  The transition will continue throughout the summer months and be complete by drop of the puck for their Home Opener in September.
