Jr Penguin Game, Practice and Event Schedules

With multiple TIERED Jr teams, the Pittsburgh Junior Penguins compete in two different Leagues.  The program starts with the Jr A team that competes in League play throughout the Midwest in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL).  The Tier I U16 and U18 teams compete in the Northern Junior Prospects Hockey League (NJPHL) where they partner with high exposure Jr events to gain exposure for their players.  The Midgets augment their League schedule with other Tier I Tournaments and home and home gane sets against other Tier I Talent.

The Jr Penguins tiered approach affords the local players an opportunity to compete at a level equal to their size, strength and talent as they continue to develop their hockey skills.  As many of the players enter the program at the Midget level, each hopes to eventually compete on our 3HL Jr A Penguin team for the exposure they get there competing in the midwest where the top NAHL and USHL Teams play and scout players.

The goal for our Flagship Jr A Penguin team is to move the players.  The younger, the better.  We wnat our top players to use us as a stepping stone to elevate their game so they can move to the next level.  We hold nobody back and want to see them move on.  Different than some of the other programs, we're not interested in keeping our best players for another year to help us win more games, but instead, we want to see them get to the next level as early in their careers as possible to give them the best chance of advancement.
